MEET OUR DENTIST

Dr. EdwardsDr. Edwards is a graduate of Walla Walla University where he completed his undergraduate education in biology followed by an MS degree, also in biology. He attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where he was awarded an Air Force scholarship. Following graduation from dental school, he served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps at Nellis AFB, NV and Travis AFB, CA with additional short tours at Creech AFB, NV and Naval Base San Diego, CA. On completion of his military service, he returned home to Walla Walla.

Dr. Edwards has earned numerous civilian and military awards including: The Outstanding Senior Award, the Hollibert E. Phillips Scholastic Achievement Award, multiple CGO quarterly awards, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is an active participant in the Academy of General Dentistry and in the American Dental Association and its state and local chapters, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Walla Walla Valley Dental Society. He also maintains membership in the Academy of Dental Materials.

True to his belief that learning never ends, Dr. Edwards enthusiastically pursues continuing professional education opportunities so that he can stay at the forefront of current, rapidly-changing dental knowledge, technology, and practices. He is actively involved with mentoring college and university students who have an interest in dentistry and has worked with Whitman College and Walla Walla University pre-dental students on dental materials research projects, including some that were recognized for degree credits.

Dr. Edwards thoroughly enjoys his profession as an evidence-based, family-focused, general dentist and has a particular interest in dental materials and the biological side of dentistry. He is a volunteer dentist for the Dental Lifeline Network, which provides charity dental services to qualifying elderly, medically fragile, and disabled patients. Outside of the dental realm Dr. Edwards holds memberships in the Planetary Society, National Parks Conservation Association, National Audubon Society, and Cornell Lab of Ornithology. He enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
